iSchool rebrands as Mwabu

Following a period of substantial investment in its educational content and platform, iSchool Zambia has rebranded as ‘Mwabu’ in order to align the Zambian business with its international sister companies. The rebrand provides the opportunity to present Mwabu as a single international organisation with a world-class product line, strong Zambian and international teams and a range of high-quality digital services for pupils and teachers.

iSchool was founded in Zambia in 2008 and partnered with Mwabu in 2015 when the founder, Mark Bennett, sadly passed away. Mwabu supports teachers and learners in government, community and private schools throughout Zambia. Mwabu has distributed over 45,000 licenses of its comprehensive, curriculum-aligned learner resources and teacher lesson plans, along with training and project management services. Mwabu content covers Grades 1-7 in English and, for early grades, seven Zambian languages.

Mwabu also develops bespoke e-learning solutions for a range of organisations in Zambia, such as financial literacy for young women, seed inspector training, conservation awareness for children, and training for healthcare professionals.

We would like to reassure our clients and business partners that Mwabu’s origins remain proudly Zambian and will continue to constantly seek ways of improving educational standards for all young Africans.

As part of the rebrand we are pleased to announce the release of the new Mwabu Learn App. The App is an improved version of the old iSchool content, with easy navigation and more interactivity, with over 1,000 fun engaging lessons and 3,800 lesson plans to help teachers. The content supports and reinforces learning at home and in schools, covering topics from all 5 subject areas in the Zambian primary school national curriculum. Mwabu Learn works on mobile phones, laptops and tablets, is suitable for online and offline use and allows teachers and parents to track learner progress.
