Davidson Kapakyulu, the Country Manager for Zambia visited our project in Mwandi District in February. He was accompanied by Project Manager Masiliso Mulemwa, and the Mwabu Academy trainer Namaste Silishebo. They visited three schools- which was an achievement with the flooding in some areas! - to observe lessons and see teachers in action. Meetings were also held between Lusaka team, the Mwabu Advisor Muyunda Lindunda, the District Education Board Secretary and the District Education Board Officers, and all the Head Teacher & Deputies involved in the project.
We loved both the enthusiasm and the resourcing of this teacher. He had used the iSchool lesson plan to create an engaging and effective lesson that covered the names and uses of different parts of the plant. Look at those hands up, keen to answer!
Technology should support and encourage interaction between learners. This activity in an iSchool lesson requires the learners to listen to a question, discuss what they are being asked to do, and answer it together. Great team work!
This learner is completing an independent activity on place value, and using stones as counters. An excellent example of how to find resources in your local environment.
